About Spin the Name

Last updated:

With Spin the Name, a free website, you type names or other choices, one per line, and spin a wheel to pick one at random. You can use it straight away, with no sign-up. Besides the main wheel there are pages for deciding a presentation order and choosing a lunch menu, and every page has an English and a Korean version.

Who runs it

The site’s operator appears on it only under the alias Pin.

How a pick is made

Which item comes up is settled before the wheel starts moving, using secure random numbers made by your browser. Every item on the wheel has an equal chance, and the spin only shows a result that has already been chosen. How it works explains the method in more detail.

Privacy in brief

On the wheel pages, your lists are saved in your browser, and the site itself has no feature that sends them anywhere else. It has no feature that uses cookies either, and there are no ads or analytics tools at present. The Privacy Policy has the full details, including how inquiry emails are handled.

Accessibility

Real screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack) have not yet been used to test the site. If something on the site gets in your way, please say so.

Getting in touch

The operator can be reached by email, and the Contact page has the address and what to include.
