These terms apply when you use Spin the Name (spinthename.net), a wheel spinner provided by its operator, Pin.
The service
On Spin the Name you type items, one per line, and spin a wheel that picks one of them at random. It is free for anyone to use, with no accounts, sign-up or login.
Your lists
Your lists are saved in your own browser, and the site code does not send them to the operator. For that reason the operator cannot recover a list once it has been deleted from your browser. Browsers can delete stored data on their own, depending on their settings, so keep a separate copy of any list you need to keep. How personal information is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Rules for using the site
- Do not use the site to infringe anyone else’s rights or to break the law.
- Never use the site to stake money or goods on a result.
- You decide how to use a result, and the responsibility for that decision is yours.
What is not guaranteed
Every item on the wheel has the same chance, and the result is chosen at random. The operator does not guarantee that a result suits any particular purpose, or that the service will always work without errors or interruptions.
Changes to the service and these terms
The service may change or stop without notice. These terms take effect on November 1, 2026. If these terms change, the date of the change is shown on this page.
