Spin history

    No spins yet.

Running orders come together one slot at a time on this page: each spin fills the next place, and the remove button takes the team that came up off the wheel before the following spin. The list here is saved in this browser separately from the home page list.

    Draw the order

    1. Replace the sample teams in the Items (one per line) box with the teams or speakers who will present, one per line.
    2. If Spin history already shows earlier results, press Clear history first so that only this order is recorded.
    3. Spin by clicking or tapping the wheel, or by pressing Enter or Space once you have moved to it with Tab. The first team picked takes the first slot.
    4. Before closing the result window, press its Remove “Design team” and spin again button, which always names the team just picked, and that team’s line leaves the box while the wheel spins for the next slot.
    5. Repeat after every result, and the wheel keeps going for as long as teams remain.
    6. After the final team comes up, the order is complete, and one more press of the remove button empties the box without another spin and leaves the box selected.

Read the result from Spin history

When Newest first is selected (the default), number 1 is at the bottom and each new result lands at the top of Spin history with the highest number, so reading the list from the bottom up gives the order in which the teams were picked. Press Order drawn and the earliest pick still in the history goes to the top as number 1, with the others following below in the order they were picked. With 50 results or fewer, the numbers show the order of the draws whichever way the list is sorted, so after clearing the history first, the number beside a team is its place in the order. Once there are more than 50 results, the oldest one drops out and the numbers are counted again from 1 among those that remain. History keeps no more than 50 results and lasts only while this page is open, so it does not survive a reload or a closed tab. Spin history (the picked results) is not saved, so write down the finished order or take a screenshot before leaving the page. With more than 50 teams, note each result as it appears.

Tips for meetings and study groups

    • Give each team a single line, because a team on two lines gets two slices and, since removal takes out only the picked line, it could be called twice.
    • At every spin, the teams still on the wheel all have the same chance. The How it works page explains how each pick is made.
    • For a long list, switch on Reduce motion to skip the 4.5-second spin and get each result at once.
    • On a projector or shared screen, Full screen, where the browser supports it, shows the wheel with the option buttons and the share-link message below it but hides the item box, the history, and the notice line and list buttons (Show my saved list, Restore my previous list) under the Items heading, so leave full screen to read the finished order.
    • Before the first spin, press Copy share link and send the link to the group, so everyone can check the list of teams. The link carries only the list, not the results, so one person should run the draw and announce the order.
    • Removing teams also shrinks the list saved in this browser straight away, so opening that same link later brings back the full list.
    • When the order is drawn from an opened share link, removals are not saved, and the list saved in this browser stays as it was.
    • Only the first 200 lines are on the wheel at once, and lines further down join only as earlier ones are removed, so keep the list to 200 or fewer for an even draw.
